I need to change my Xbox live gamer tag to my Xbox tag so I can redeem codes

It is as stated above by Xbox Forums Ambassadors

XBF Crystal P stated, we have two accounts that we are currently working with.

The problem is that we cannot combine Microsoft accounts together, so in order for you to effectively add your account to your console, you need to use the email and password that you currently have assigned to the account you are trying to recover.

If you know this email, and you are not sure what the password to your account is, you can attempt to follow the

Lost Password Solution wizard.

If you are having trouble recovering your account, we implore you to use the link provided by XBF Crystal P to contact Xbox Customer Support.

For convenience, I will provide the steps to follow to reach an Xbox Representative:

Log into Support.Xbox.com

• Scroll down, Click on Contact Us
• Step 2 : Select Billing and accounts then See other options
• Step 3 : Select your Issue – Recover my account
  • Select - Show contact options
  • Select – Request a call from Support

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is a question with redeeming codes on a correct account. This sounds like there are 2 different emails. I recommend signing into the account individually to review the sign in email. This can
be located on the upper left hand corner on the dashboard or give this a try:

• Settings > Account
• Sign in, security and passkey > in the center under Show on Home will display the email

If you would like further assistance with accounts, I recommend to
contact Customer Supportfor further assistance.

You will have to log in with the credentials that you used to create the original tag.

You must log in with your original account and not create another one so your data, games and subscriptions will be available regardless of whether you use another console than usual
