I need my gamer tag changed. I get nothing but hate comments

YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR GAMERTAG ONCE FOR FREE.

This seems to be a point That everyone has missed.

You say that this is the name you signed up your profile with?

Your first GamerTag change is FREE. After that it will be charged.

Also, be sure to contact Xbox Support who investigate EVERY instance of this type of behaviour.

Action will always be taken against those who Xbox Support can see have been abusive towards you.

 

Xbox support have nothing at all to do with enforcement.The only way to report someone is via your console.

The free gamertag change when you create your account has been discussed above.

Gamertag changes are free if it is you first one. So if the OP did not select the automatically generated name the system gave him he has already changed it once for free. Also, I do believe you only have 30 days to get the free change

Sorry, but you are incorrect. There are many ways to report foul and abusive behaviour.

Yes you should submit a report via your console, but you can also contact Xbox Support about it.

I have done previously after getting disgusting messages from children playing GTA 5.

Xbox Support took a full report from me and passed it to the Enforcement Team to investigate.

 

You'll find i'm right actually.Support have nothing to do with enforcement whatsoever.As an ambassador this is something you should know.

The only way to report someone to the enforcement team is via your console.

 

Daft is right. If you try to file a complaint through Support, they'll make a note of it in the account, but they don't have any kind of process for forwarding it to the Enforcement team. The console is the only system Xbox uses to track and process these
kinds of complaints.

 

As multiple other users have said: simply mute or block communications with all disrespectful users. You can also set your communication preference to 'friends only' which will prevent anyone that is not on your friends list from contacting you (Save a message
from XBOX LIVE). This is something that is within your power and rights designated to you in the code of conduct and privacy act (keep in mind that Microsoft reserves the right to change/repeal any set guidelines defined in the code of conduct and or privacy
act). Best of luck to you and remember you are defined by your actions not by the actions of your peers, simply rise above them and be the better man/woman by ignoring them or waking away (exiting the game if need be).

Hey guys sounds like this issue has been solved. As stated, the only way to report abusive users is via that console using the "file a complaint" feature. OP if you wish to change your GT you will need to pay for the change. Any questions feel free to PM
