I understand you need help in deleting a saved data on a game.

Please do this on your Xbox console to delete the saved data:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select My games & apps.

Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game & add-ons.

In the menu on the left side of the screen, scroll down to Saved Data, then highlight the saved data for your gamertag on the right and press the A button on your controller.

You'll be prompted to confirm deletion of this game save data:

Delete from console removes the local copy of this save. You can get it from the cloud the next time you play.

Delete everywhere removes your saved data from this console, the cloud, and all other consoles you play on.

btw....just asking to be safe, a type c micro usb cable plugged into the computer port won't actually try to charge the ordinary batteries, would they? Or should I remove the batteries while using the cable? I heard that only the charge and play kit can recharge them while inserted.

I don't know the answer to that one...I have only ever plugged my controller in with the charge and play cable to recharge it. However, I know that the Wireless 360 controller needed a specific cable to charge with...other cables simply just carried data so it would be logical that newer controllers would be the same.

My advice just to be safe: Simply remove the batteries from the controller when you use it wired.

Are you trying to use the remote to directly control the TV? It is my understanding that the remote only directly connects to the Xbox which could then be able to control the TV. Without an Xbox, can this remote be used at all?

No one here can help you. You have to pay off the balance before you can use the prepaid card on your account. Whenever you purchase Live from Xbox it turns on auto-renewal. You have to call support to have them turn it off.
