I need help with copy and paste from xbox app

im trying to copy and paste fom my xbox app onto ark survival evolved on my xbox 1 but the copy and paste part is not popping up on the xbox app

The xbox app won't work

The xbox app won't work properly as a remote the choice to use my phone to type and copy/paste does not pop up in need help ASAP.

Xbox App smartglass doesn’t work on ark for me

Alright let’s keep this short,

I’m an Admin on an Ark server, I regularly use the smartglass on the Xbox app to copy and paste commands to spawn things and so on. Now it doesn’t work and it simply takes forever to type almost every code I need, please help!

Copy from a phone app to the Xbox One? I don't know how that would even be possible. :/

I don't think the Xbox app supports copy/paste, but if it did I assume you would highlight the text and then touch and hold until menu appears. If the app doesn,t have the functionality then you,re out of luck.

If highlighting and dropping the paste button doesn't appear when you attempt then, either the version of the app or the network doesn't support it.

It's amazing to me that there are so many Ambassador's who don't have a clue about this feature! Yes it is a feature and does work!

If it is not working for you try this.

I've found the first thing to try is to do a HARD reboot of you XBox One. There seems to be an issue where something will happen in the background of the OS and the keyboard will stop working. In my experience so far a hard reboot will fix this and cause
the keyboard entry and copy/paste features to work again until the issue happens again.

Another thing to do to keep this issue for ocuring as often is to put the XBox in "energy-saving" (settings -> power mode & startup -> power mode -> energy-saving) mode. This makes it so the Xbox will completely power down when you turn it off instead of
going into is listening sleep mode. Of course the drawback to do this is that you will no longer be able to wake up your XBox with a voice command. For me, this was not big deal.

I agree with IncognitoPiglet, I’d like to add that you can copy and paste a code from a website into the xbox app.

However, one tip that i found is that you need to open the app and connect it to the xbox before you bring up the console or typing option.
