I need help with a prepaid card from another region

Today (21/07/2018) my girlfriend bought me a card of $ 25usd and I want to exchange it but when I enter it it appears that I can not get it because it does not belong to the region (mexico) I would like to know if someone could help me to get the code or
spend it from usd to Mexican peso. Thanks for the help

if it's a prepaid visa that would be why

Your card must be in the same region as your account region

If it's a prepaid visa you must turn on Online transactions and reoccurring purchasing and have billing info registered on the vendors site

AlsoAlso if the prepaid card isn't working still then you are going to have to get another card with prepaid cards it's 80% chance of not working you can only guess and pray

And ask Support sometimes to help add it

It's best to purchase cards in the region that you intend to use them for. Points/currency cards are region locked so if you were sending one to Mexico from another country, it would not work.

Also, points/currency cannot be used to purchase a gold subscription. You would need to purchase a prepaid gold subscription card.

 

Gift cards will only work for the region they are created for. There would be no way to have to changed to pesos.

another question, then if I change the account or from the xbox and try to exchange the code from there I could do it without risk to something?

 

Depending on what you'd be buying, you may have issues downloading or purchasing because of region locks.

Changing the region of your console won't help, regrettably. Your Microsoft account's region has to match the currency for the region. I had a similar issue with a friend who gifted me Destiny 2 DLC over Xmas - I couldn't redeem the code, because he is in
the USA, and I am in the UK. We worked it our via Paypal gifting currency, and so I was able to make up the difference and purchase content at my end, with my local currency.

Regrettably, there are no conversion systems in place, on Xbox.
