I need help (PC to XBOX 360)

So I am trying to plug in my XBOX 360 by HDMI into my laptop which is a windows 10 all inclusive computer. I have already tried going into start -> settings -> devices -> display etc etc they didn't explain anything and just gave links to report it instead
of answer the question. Currently I am sitting with my XBOX on and the laptop connected and on. Nothing is happening.

Yeah, HDMI ports on PC's/laptops are hdmi out only ports, so will only send out the signal to a monitor or TV. You would need to check if your laptop supports hdmi in, as Smwutches stated it is very rare to get one with a hdmi in port. Your best option
would be to just connect the console to a TV or monitor.

You would need to see if the HDMI port is HDMI-In which is very rare.

Hi there,

as far as I remember, a play and charge cable is only used to charge the battery it isn't used for any communication purposes between PC and controller. To use the controller you would need a wireless receiver (specifically for Xbox 360 controllers) to be able to use the controller on a PC.
