If he wants to play the newest Madden, he would need a One S or X. (The X can play games in 4K). It would already come with what he needs accept maybe an extra controller.

If he wants to play Mario, he would need a Nintendo.

So, all I need to do is buy the X and this is all he would need? Would I need to buy the game?

It's typically a bad idea to buy a used 360. You never know when a console will be banned.



Take the 360 back to your retailer and exchange it for a replacement.

I kept my old hd so that I could keep all my seved data for a new Xbox, it won't save any games to the hard drive and also won't download my profile.

Perhaps a banned console?
