I need clarification on console bans

Hi, I'm looking for clarification on console bans regarding smurfing.

I bought a new Xbox a week ago to play Halo 5, as my main account has high MMR I can't find games (in social) but I woke up today with a console ban. It doesn't tell me what its for, yes I created smurf accounts so I can play the game. I spoke to Xbox support and they said smurfing WONT get you console banned, but looking online I'm seeing mixed answers. The person I spoke to said as it's a second hand console it's likely the previous owner tampered with the software but I'm unsure. The TOS mentions smurfing but it doesn't clarify if you get a temp in game ban, account ban or a permeant console ban.

I just need someone who actually works at the enforcement section to clarify if smurfing 100% gets you permanently console banned.

The thing is that my MMR is so high on my main account I struggle to find games and with how low the population is I pretty much need to make new accounts just to play the game (social not ranked)

The enforcement team do not use the forums and there is no way to contact them directly. Since support does not handle enforcement issues, they have been known to give incorrect information regarding them. As upu stated, it is against the rules so regardless of whether it results in an account ban or console ban, not be done. However, console bans can be given if multiple accounts on a console are breaking the rules so it is possible the enforcement team would use smurfing as a reason to console ban.
