I need assistance with a code from the Gears of War 4 promotion.

Hello Xbox team,

I cannot activate pre-paid code from Gears of War 4 inside the package was bonus code for Gears of War Judgment but when I enter the code this error come up every time - XBOS1005. When I try to redeem it everything shows fine game name but after that "Something
went wrong..". I already get in touch with xbox support but they advice me to point my question to this forum.

Message Containing Gears of War Collection Promotion Codes Automatically Deleted

The message containing the Gears of War Promotion codes for redeeming Gears of War 4 automatically deleted itself after I selected to redeem the first code (which happened to be Gears of War 3).

I was able to redeem the Gears of War 3 code, but still need the codes for Gears of War 1, 2, and Judgment.

gears of war 4 ultimate edition codes not sent .

Purchased Gears of War Ultimate edition . In the next 3 days it will be a month and I have not yet received the codes. I called x box support to confirm my purchase and it is showing that i do own the content to receive the codes for Gears of war collection
promotion (which includes the other 4 games from the xbox 360). Need assistance in getting those codes sent to me.

That promo ended last year and wasn't included in the packages they were sent out later

Those would be dlc packs included with gears 4

Can you show an ad where it was included ?

If it is the gears collection then no that wasnt includes and ended last year

 

AAlso you have to live in an Xbox live region not Japan or china or non Xbox live regions

Your account region has to match your actual region

 

First of all there was a label on front of the package that includes GOWJ second I locked the GOD card for expiration date there wasn't and I'm hovering around UK region and all GOD games worked flawlessly but problem here is that when I try to redeemed
it show only "Something went wrong.." not "expired" or "already in use". I don't know what the promo because I have xbox from 2 weeks maybe but I have paper copy of the code not digitally sent.

 

There are no promos like that it wouldn't be expired or already in use

Something went wrong is a sign of region error or a invalid code

It doesn't matters if you state you live in uk if you don't actually live there

Your account region and console region must reflect your actual region

 

The code is okay it shows the game name I'm not entering any code. Yeah xbox live its not covered in my region this is not been a problem for now I have other games activated with codes for UK. So what are trying to tell to request a refund and switch to
Sony it's not late yet? Look thank you for your help but I don't have time to chit chat and I want an answer from real staff member I will send them the code they will check em up.

 

Refunds are only thru your retailer you will always run into this issue if you don't live in an Xbox live region

 

DDisks Games aren't covered for refunds you have to talk to your retailer

That error generally indicates that your Microsoft account doesn't have a billing account established. As the codes you are trying to redeem are Xbox 360 codes, in order to redeem them you need to have a proper billing address on file. If you don't have
one, or aren't sure, check your
Microsoft Commerce account and add one there then try redeeming the codes again.

Just updated my account BG/US also I added credit card but no luck same error. I'm giving up if you have any other idea shoot me otherwise I will burn the card and finish with this.

 

Your billing address has to match your account region

Bulgaria isn't an Xbox live region

Solution found!!! Here's how it goes since all xbox 360 digital content is region locked(for reasons I still don't understand) you have to migrate your xbox 360 account to desired region this is nothing to do with your billing address.
What you have to do is to sign in xbox.com after that click your gamertag on the top right > Xbox settings > Change 360 account region > follow the steps and select desired region in my case from Bulgaria > United Kingdom.
Like I said mate I don't have time to chitchat and I want things done. I will verify your respond as an answer only to close the case.
