I need an advice for 2 accounts. Mother's and child's.

You need to create a personal Microsoft account for your child so you can manage his account privacy settings.

Once you have successfully created his account, make sure to add his account under your Microsoft Family group.

If you are on a child account and are now 18, all you need to do is Promote the account. You should find this under the Account Management section of your account on the console. Also, just to confirm, are you being asked for your mother's WLID and password,
or the 4-digit parental passcode?

I think, as a mother, than anything can be solved through good conversation. Talk to your child and resolve it. And yes, all things are connected to account.
