I need advice on how to fix my mic issues

    Hey there,

I've been having a problem with my mic. Whenever I plug it in to my controller, no audio comes through. I check to see if my headset is connected, and it isn't, despite the fact that I've plugged it firmly into the headphone jack. In the time after this
first happened I've gotten a new mic, but the problem persisted. I decided that it must be a controller problem, so I switched controllers. My mic worked fine for about 5 months until the problem arose again.

Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?

    :)

People say my Tritton 720+ mic echoes

I'm not sure how the Trittons hook up exactly, but, from experience with one or two friends with similar issues it may not be the mic, a friend of mine recently got a new cable that connects to the chat adaptor, that proved to be the problem, a replacement
cable fixed it, my best advice is to check all possible connections, including the mic.

    how to fix mic issue

Hi, Nick my name is Jhon, and will be a pleasure help you

The issue you're describing with your microphone being heard only when the Game Bar is open can be frustrating, but there are several things you can try to fix it:

    1. Check your microphone settings:

Ensure your microphone is set as the default input device in both Windows Sound settings and the Game Bar settings. Go to Settings > System > Sound, then choose "Manage sound devices" and verify your microphone is set as the default for both "Input" and "Microphone."
Open the Game Bar (Win + G) and click on the microphone icon. Confirm the correct microphone is selected and adjust the volume slider if needed.

    Update drivers:

Outdated or corrupted audio drivers can cause microphone issues. Update your Audio and Microphone drivers by searching for "Device Manager" in Windows and expanding the "Audio inputs and outputs" category. Right-click your microphone and choose "Update driver." Select "Search automatically for updated driver software."

    Grant microphone access to apps:

Make sure that both the Game Bar and the specific game you're playing have access to your microphone. Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone. Under "Allow apps to access your microphone," toggle on the switch for "Game Bar" and the game you're experiencing the issue with.

    Reset Xbox Live settings:

Sometimes, corrupted Xbox Live settings can cause microphone issues. Open the Game Bar (Win + G) and click on the gear icon. In Settings, choose "Gaming" and then "Network." Click on "Fix it" under "NAT type." This will attempt to reset your Xbox Live connection and resolve any potential issues.

    Troubleshoot additional settings:

Check if Windows Communication Platform (WCP) service is running. Press Win + R and type "services.msc." Find "Windows Communication Platform" and make sure it's "Started" and set to "Automatic."

Disable exclusive mode for sound devices. Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar, choose "Sounds," then right-click your speakers and select "Properties." Under the "Advanced" tab, uncheck the box for "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."

    How to fix my mic

    Hi Tyler,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues with your headset. For us to isolate your issue, please provide the exact headset model that you are using. If it's compatible with other devices, please try to use your headset as well to confirm if the issue is not related to your headset.

Please check if your slider is configured properly. To do this, press the Xbox button on the controller to open the menu. Select the Audio icon to modify the settings. On the next page, you can find three options: Headset volume, Headset chat mixer, and Mic monitoring. Make sure to set the Headset chat mixer to 40-60%.

    Keep me posted. Thank you

    Regards,

    Alvaro

    How to fix my mic

Hello Leslie P, my name is Vanessa, I will help you in any way I can.

I found information that may be useful to you, the information is not mine, it is from Advisor Gerardo C.

    Information:

Make sure the controller you are using has its firmware fully updated using the instructions at the following link:

    https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/controller/update-xbox-wireless-controller

Make sure that the chat mixer is configured correctly so that both voice chat and the game can be heard.

Check it out in Profile & system > Settings > General > Volume & audio output. Under Advanced Options, select Additional Options, then select Chat Mixer.

    You can try this too:

Check that the microphone is set correctly in the game or app you are using.

Open the game or app and find the audio settings.

Make sure the microphone is selected as the input device and the volume level is set correctly.

Try using a different microphone, if you have another microphone available, try using it to see if the problem persists.
