I migrated my old Mojang to Microsoft but got locked out of my Microsoft

My old Mojang account was associated with an email. When I migrated, I assumed I should just migrate it to the Microsoft account with the same email. But then Microsoft locked me out of that old account. All the recovery methods relate to super old stuff: an old Skype, an old Xbox, an old phone number.

Is the Minecraft account gone forever? Should I just give Microsoft the $40 to buy a new account to save me the hassle?

When you migrate a Mojang account you select to which Microsoft account you want to do it according to oficial migration FAQ

In this case you may need to proceed with the account recovery form to try and recover that Microsoft account

In cases like this no one Microsoft agent or Mojang support can assist you with this process / tell your the specific email / modify or share account details due to privacy and security policies

Hello, that’s the problem. I cannot log in my old account through mojang, I’ve asked for help, they said, that it had been migrated and linked to Microsoft account. There’s on my Microsoft account new Mojang account which hasn’t got nickname I played with in mojang and license either

I'm having a similar problem. After migrating my Mojang account to a Microsoft account, when I attempt to login using the Microsoft credentials, it shows up as a non-paid / demo account. I don't want to have to buy the game again. I wonder if it is possible the account was migrated to a different Microsoft account than the one I am using, but Mojang support cannot address that. I would love to be able to lookup what account name/email address my old Mojang account was migrated to.

That's the issue, it wasn't linked to a Microsoft account at the time, as it was hacked in 2021, before the migration stuff which came about in 2023 or so. Thats why I tried to go via mojang themseleves at first, but as I say they just pass off any and all account issues to Microsoft now. Then when I got the new account, which used my current Microsoft account (the one I'm posting these support messages through), which uses the same email address that the old mojang account used. So it's unfortunately not a case of regaining access to a Microsoft account, I'd need to be able to access the old mojang account which I'm pretty sure I can't do that anymore, that is why I asked about migrating the username over, as I don't believe the old account was ever migrated in the first place and so shouldn't be an active account anymore as you can't play on mojang accounts?
