Where did you purchase your copy of FIFA 17? Was it a digital purchase from the Xbox Store or was it a purchase from a local retailer? If it was a digital purchase, your content is added to your game automatically. Here is a guide from EA Support on how

EA Support directly for further assistance.

From what I understand, the two platforms are separate and so your son would have to start again with a new team. This reply on the EA Forums (https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/Transfer-Ultimate-Team-FIFA-17-from-Xbox-360-to-Xbox-On...)
whilst for FIFA 17 suggests that a transfer is not something they can do.
