I just bought a backbone for my xbox 1. I have properly set up both my phone and console but remote play keeps disconnecting. What do I do?

    Hello William Anhut,

Thank you for your contribution to the Microsoft community.

We totally understand that you wan to fix the issues with remote play on your Xbox One using the Backbone. Just a reminder, we are not able to double check the account or the devices that is connected to your account. No worries, we do have some effective troubleshooting steps here that could fix the issue.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check your internet connection: Make sure that your phone and Xbox One are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and that your internet connection is stable.

    2. Restart your devices: Try restarting both your phone and Xbox One to see if that resolves the issue.

    3. Update your Xbox One: Make sure that your Xbox One is running the latest software updates. You can check for updates by going to Settings > System > Updates.

    4. Check your Backbone connection: Ensure that your Backbone is properly connected to your phone and Xbox One. You can also try disconnecting and reconnecting the Backbone to see if that helps.

    5. Try a different game: If the issue persists, try playing a different game to see if the problem is specific to the game you're currently playing.

Hope I helped! Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Remote Play Question?

Hello William A, My name is Khaji I am the independent advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with remote play on your Xbox console using the Backbone controller, and you're getting disconnected before being able to start playing, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Ensure that both your Xbox console and your phone are connected to a stable and reliable Wi-Fi network. Unstable or weak network connections can cause frequent disconnections during remote play. Consider moving closer to your Wi-Fi router or connecting to a different network if possible.

    2. Power off both your Xbox console and your phone, then turn them back on. This can help refresh the devices and establish a more stable connection.

    3. Make sure that your Xbox console is running the latest system software. Go to the "Settings" menu on your console, select "System," and then choose "Updates & downloads." If an update is available, install it and restart your console.

    4. Ensure that you have the latest version of the Backbone app installed on your phone. Visit your phone's app store (e.g., the App Store for iOS or the Google Play Store for Android) and check for any available updates for the Backbone app. Install any updates and try remote play again.

    5. On your Xbox console, go to the "Settings" menu, select "Power & startup," and then choose "Power mode & startup." Make sure that the power-saving mode is disabled. This can prevent the console from entering a low-power state that may interfere with remote play.

    6. Confirm that the Backbone app is compatible with your specific Xbox console model and firmware version. Some remote play apps may have specific requirements or limitations. Visit the Backbone website or contact their support team to ensure compatibility.

    7. If you've tried the above steps and the disconnection issue persists, it's recommended to reach out to Backbone's support team. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps and assistance tailored to their hardware and app.

Remember that remote play experiences can vary based on various factors, including network conditions and device compatibility.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding! If you need anything else, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Is there a update with cloud gaming I’m not aware of?

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with your Cloud gaming app.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Kindly ensure your internet connection is stable it is because cloud gaming relies heavily on a strong and stable network connection.

Please restart your phone because a restart can resolve connectivity issues.

And then update apps.Make sure that both the Backbone app and the cloud gaming app are up to date. You can check for updates in the App Store or Google Play Store.

Next is to check permissions. Your cloud gaming app has the necessary permissions to access your controller. Kindly do this in your phone's settings.

Then uninstalling and then reinstalling both the Backbone app and the cloud gaming app.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Remote play

I can appreciate you trying to help but clearly you aren’t reading my issue. Whether the backbone controller is attached to my phone or not I still have the issue this is something on the Xbox app/remote play side.
