I insered my cold war disk in series x but in game says i have to rebuy

I am having the same problem on Call of Duty Cold War Multi Player. My Series X console will shut down in the middle of game play. The controller remains on. Microsoft please help?

but like for cold war i can still use it for xbox one and series x will that work

From what I can tell, to access the Series X version of the game, you need the Cross-Gen bundle...once you buy that, you should then be able to download and install the Series X version. Without the cross-gen bundle it will, presumably, just install the XB1 version

"For digital owners of the Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War Standard Edition, this upgrade will unlock the Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War Cross-Gen Bundle, giving access to the Xbox Series X|S version of the game. After upgrade purchase, search in the Xbox store for the Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War - Cross-Gen Bundle to install the Xbox Series X|S version of the game."

Disk version:

Uninstalled everything cold war

Put in disk

Went to Microsoft store

Picked series x version

Picked install

Started game, was in trial mode

Quit out

Installed 4 content packs FROM STORE

Started game, HD assets, ray tracing installed.

EDIT: Base game download might have come from disk, not store. But it was 180gb and content packs did come from store.

I understand I have to rebuy it but my problem is that I can't possibly resell my disk for to reach that price, so is there a way to sell to Xbox or something to get a reduced price cause if not financially speaking it's better to sell the series S than rebuy all my games at an increased price.
