    Yesterday, I decided to unenroll my Series X from the program to see if my console would stop shutting down completely after a game crashed. So far, I’ve experienced 0 issues with the following games that constantly crash my console:

    • Cold War
    • Fenyx Rising
    • The Medium
    • There are more I just haven’t tested them yet

    Everybody’s console is different, but after unenrolling from the program I’ve noticed that I’m able to play these games without them crashing my console every 20-30min. Games will still most likely crash due to bugs that the developers need to fix on there end (completely normal).

    If you’re sick and tired of your Series X fully shutting down, not being able to even open some games, and/or experiencing the issues we’ve all been having with the program/console itself, I highly recommend unenrolling from the program until Microsoft fixes these major issues (It seems like it’s gunna be awhile before MS actually fixes them and gets the program running right).

    PS: If you do decide to unenroll, you keep your downloaded games, apps and settings. You just have to set up your console again and sign back in to your apps (Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, etc etc).

    Thank you for keeping us updated. Using the Xbox Insider HUB on someone's console will allow the account to unenroll from the Xbox Insider program. The device that is unenrolled will not be completely removed from the Xbox Insider program until the next
    update. Make sure the correct account is signed in to the Xbox One. Be sure to let us know the results!

    Is your console by any chance in the Xbox Insider program? If it is, then that will be why you get more updates than anyone of your friends. To unenroll just launch the Xbox Insider app, go into settings and unenroll the console. You will get one more
    update, and then no more until the public update gets released.

    If you are in the Insider Program, unenrolling your system from the program will revert it back to the latest general release. If you are not in the program there is no way to roll back the software.

    Even after you opt out of the insider program for the app, it can take a while for that registration to clear. And on some updates, I can't speak to why/which ones, but they will prevent you from truly being off the Insider version until the production
    version is at the version you had installed.

    I'd recommend checking the app to make sure it says your enrollment isn't listed as "(pending)", and then you can try @NeoDan123's recommendation of uninstalling the app after unenrolling, and then reinstalling from the store. See if that sorts it out for
    you.
