I have Xbox Live GOLD. I recently purchased TitanFall2, the Digital Copy.

thanks but yes i did have a copy of the purchase in my Microsoft account and at the time the subscription to Xbox live - gold had just run out and once i renewed that i still had the digital copy of the game for halo reach which i only downloaded recently
to the Xbox. i only got the Xbox one this Christmas (2015), so i only just found out a couple of weeks ago that i could download Xbox 360 games to my Xbox one. i just want to know if the delay between me renewing my subscription to Xbox live - gold could have
effected play and why i can not get it to work. please could you help.

To summarize my situation

Purchased digital copy for Xbox 360 = YES

Connected to xbox live account = YES

Have active Xbox live gold membership = YES

All under same account = YES

Waited 24-48 hours = YES

Tried to purchase on Xbox One signed into same account = YES

Thanks for the answer, Blitz. It doesn't quite answer my question though. I have the game hardcopy, but if it's not tied to my account, like you say physical copies don't, why shouldn't I have been able to "tie" the digital copy to my account? It was free
with Gold (which I have), so shouldn't I have been able to "buy" it digitally? There's usually a button with that option with a price of $0; I didn't see one anywhere though, on either Xbox.

I know having it in two formats (both a digital disc on my shelf, and a digital copy attached to my Live account intalled on my Xbox) is somewhat redundant, but I'd like the option of just being able to switch games from the couch without changing discs.
I even cleared my 360 of DX:HR to try and accept the free version, but no link/option was available.

Regarding the games I passed to my friend, that was a theoretical situation if they became free some month in the future. Since he would have hardcopies, he could play those; if I "purchased" the free Gold digital copies, I could play those. I'm curious
whether me having played them previously (and having achievements in my account) would stop me from "buying" the Gold free digital copy, like it seemed that Deus Ex did.

Yes. if you want a digital copy and a physical disc you will have to purchase it both ways.

The Live marketplace only provides digital copies.

I have one more question in regards to digital copies.

My two brothers live together

both have XboxOne's

If they put each others profiles on each others xbox's....does that mean they only need to buy one Digital copy? Because they are in essence a Family sharing content...each also have Gold subscriptions.
