I have xbox game pass ultimate and when I load up rust it say couldn't connect to xbox live...

I can't put my finger on the conversion rate data, at the moment, but it's approximately 3:1 Gold to Xbox Ultimate, if I recall correctly.

I have played a lot on Xbox but when i load up the game on the Xbox App for PC (I'm a Game pass ultimate subscriber) none of my saves are there. Any ideas?

Fornite won't load because it can't link to Xbox live. I have Game Pass Ultimate which should include Xbox live.

It sounds like you signed up for Game Pass Ultimate, if this is the case when you cancelled it you would have lost your Xbox Live Gold as well, since when you sign up to Game Pass Ultimate it combines any Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass into the one
subscription.
