I have XBox Game Pass (3 month) but cannot download any games

I have done all of the steps that are recommended when the installation fails (i.e. making sure I have XBox Game Pass, disabling and then reinstalling XBox game services).

The error code is: 0x800704c6

When I log in to the Xbox (Beta) app I can see that my Game Pass is active but when I try to install a game it just stays at 0% and eventually gives an error.

One suspicion I have is that I have two Microsoft accounts (please let me just combine them!).

My computer was set up with one account, then I logged into Xbox with my other account (one from the very first years of XBL). I have tried switching between the two accounts (only one will be recognized as having game pass), and even tried each permutation
of Xbox Account A using store account B, and vice versa.

I have enough hard drive space, can download large files in other cases, I have admin permission on my pc, and Windows 10 is up to date.

How do I make use of Xbox Game Pass?

EDIT: The game I am testing with is Gris.

Home PC, Gris install hangs and gives up- 0% whole time.

Work PC, Gris installs and is playable.

Clearly, I have Xbox Game Pass, but there is something about my home set up that causes it to not work. I cannot figure it out.

This is still an issue.

At work any game will install fine, at home it will not.

I do have game pass for PC and my PC says it is all the way up to date.

Check if you have Xbox game pass or Xbox game pass for pc/ultimate.

As you have mentioned that you have two accounts, make sure you log out from your PC with other account, and log in only with the account on which you have subscribed to Game Pass. Then open Game Pass app, and login with this same account again and then
install the game.

If above still shows same error, go directly to Store app in your PC, and there you will see the download of the game in failed state, try restarting download from here itself in the store app.

could you confirm that your pc and apps are all updated.

you are using gamepass ultimate and not standard xbox gamepass.

does your pc meet the minimum required specs?

if you are trying to use your gamepass via the second account and not the one it was purchased from this could be the problem.
