I have to transfer my games to my internal storage in order to the play.

I just barely upgraded to a Series X and was excited to play it but every game I owned I had on my seagate hard drive, but some of them are making me transfer them off my seagate drive to the internal drive. Does this mean every game on my sea gate drive will now need to be transferred to my internal hard drive? Does it also make my seagate drive redundant to all my series X games as they can’t be on that hard drive? Examples of games: GoTG, MW2, Destiny 2, R6 Siege, Borderlands 3 and quite a few others need to be transferred to my internal drive. I tried seeing if they needed to be moved to my internal then my sea gate but it just asks me to transfer it back. I don’t want to have to get a new seagate drive for this Xbox to have more storage but if I do that’s what I’ll do and if that’s the case leave me some ideas of what to pay to give me more storage please and thank you in advance!

    :)

    Good evening

It means that you'll probably have to format the external drive and reinstall your games, it's very likely that just by connecting you won't be able to use them.

You did read the next gen specs right?

Your Seagate external hdd can never match the minimun specs requires

One you need to run at 2.4gbps to 4.8 gbps

Your Seagate is limited to 500mbps and sit behind bottlenecks

Basically any game that gets next gen upgraded or you selected fps patch when you attached the hdd to won't work on your slow drive

You can store them on the slow drive but you have to use the Seagate storage card or internal drive to run them we are talking about 5-8x the difference in speed

Which Seagate just announced price drops ahead of the WD cards coming out soon

I have to transfer my games to my internal storage in order to the play.

So...should I get a new drive all together or...is it just a matter of internally updating the hard drive. (P.S. I have an Elements hard drive)

Newer games require faster storage bug. Will not let me -download- to external harddisk/ssd

I understand. But in order for you to play the games, they need to be on the internal storage. While you can store these games on external drives, you will need to transfer them to the internal drive or expansion card in order to play them.

The faster storage requirement is a design choice to ensure optimal performance for newer games, and while you can use external storage for them, you will need to transfer them to the internal hard drive or expansion card before you can play them.

Can i download the Xbox One version of dying light 2 on my Series X?

Not only just that, if I don’t have a lot of storage on my internal drive, and I sometimes play a game like apex or something, I’d rather that on my external, where I can still play and have fun without the transfers and unneeded storage being taken up on internal
