A way to redeem a Minecon gift card is to follow these steps

1. Go to minecraft.net/redeem.
   
2. Input your 25-digit code in the “Enter Code” box.
   
3. Sign in with the Microsoft Account in which you would like to use the item.
   
4. Follow the instructions to download the item.

If it isn't a Minecon but just a normal gift card just redeem it ion your Microsoft account and then use the money to buy mine coins from the Microsoft or in game store.

I just now purchased Minecraft for Windows 10 Master Collection for my son. This is to include 1000 mine coins. He sent me the request to purchase the game from his Microsoft Account and I received the request on my Microsoft Account. I allowed purchase,
entered payment information. He was able to download the game. However his Mine Coins are no place to be found. I've searched the internet and this seems to be a common issue. I went to Mojang Support website and this is what it states,

"In many cases, the issue is when parents purchase these items or redeemed a gift card on their own Microsoft account, not knowing that they cannot be transferred to a child’s account later.

In order to track down your purchase, please make sure that you are logged in to the Microsoft account on which you purchased the item or redeemed the card.

If you find that you have redeemed a prepaid card or purchased on the wrong account, you will need to contact our Xbox support team here."

So xbox is responsible according to who you are referring us to. Please provide a solution to this problem.

No need to apologise. You do need to buy more coins as the pack has a set price tag. So, you will have to pay for more coins.
