I understand what you mean. Would I still get the same deal with those download codes as I would through the marketplace?

I'm not able to purchase any download codes from my work computer with all shopping sites blocked. (at least all the ones I tried)

That might be a bit of a pickle. But there is one way I can think of that you still could purchase until the 30 days are up. Some retail websites have the ability to be able to purchase downloadable instant Xbox credit gift card codes to redeem for your
xbox account, just find one of those websites because I am not at liberty to post external links.

Find one of those websites and pay through them, I have used some websites like that occasionally and works a treat.

Then just simply redeem the codes you bought and start purchasing and count those 30 days down, they'll go pretty quick!
