    Did you get these games through games with gold perhaps? Do you no longer have gold or Game Pass?

    If your game is disc just insert it into your Xbox and it will automatically download the game to your console, you need to see if your game is indeed backwards compatible, please click on this link which has a list of all the games that are backward compatible.     It says I don't own them. Like for example I owned black Ops on my 360. And lots of other titles but for some reason don't hav access to the backwards compatible versions

    If you do not on the game digitally, you'll have to have the disk in the drive in order to play. You do not automatically get digital rights to things you don't own digitally

    If you have a series S without a drive I'm sorry there's no way to validate your ownership
