I have lost access to my gamer-tag account named ToFat2Carry#555

Except you had recently changed your gamertag, then they might be an email address for that gamertag. You'll need to find it and then use the account recovery form to recover the account.

The xbox feature is part of your Microsoft account. Not all accounts have a gamer tag, but all xbox accounts are part of the Microsoft account. The gamer tag which is not a required feature of the Microsoft account is so that gamers can represent themselves
in a public manner to other gamers without revealing their actual account (which is the account email).

The gamer tag is not part of Microsoft security in any form, it may help you recover a lost account but just having a gamer tag will not give you access to or is part of the security for a Microsoft account. I did Xbox support for three years, I helped
recover many accounts while customer support was able to do that. I have never heard of a secondary gamer tag before. The only way to recover the account now is through the compromised account link listed above.

Look im not trying to pick a fight , the email thing is wrong i need access to my accounts physically to change access . All of these accoumts have my real gamer tag { } as a secondery gamer tag wich denies me access to security settings

this explanation helped with my lost data i just had to go in to the docs capcom file and rename old gamer tag save data file to new gamer tag name all progress and saves now load no problem thanks

Ah this is a mess...when I tried to sign up for Microsoft Connect to gain access to the Xbox live preview program I couldn't get it to accept my account attached to my gamer profile () for whatever reason. I therefore tried another account of
mine with more success and proceded to enter my gamer tag () with no apparent issues. However when I today clicked the link to access the preview forums, it just asked for my first name (i thought weird, but whatever) and created a new gamer profile.
I figured okay, I'll sign out and back in with my actual account, with the common link connecting my preview access and my actual gamer profile being my gamer tag, but alas no cigar. What do I do????
