I have IPv6 enabled on my router and coverage in my area. Why does my Xbox only connect to IPv4?

My "Current network status" on my Xbox:

    Wired

    IPv4

I have IPv6 enabled on my router and coverage in my area. Why does my Xbox only connect to IPv4?

Hi OMEGASYPHER my name is Rodrigo. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

I am sorry to hear that.

The console should have connected automatically to IPv6 if it's correctly set on your router and Internet Provider.

Please, take a look here: https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/connect-network/ipv6-on-xbox-one

Have you tried to enable it manually on your settings?

To set it up, follow these steps:

Go to Settings > Select Network > Select Advanced settings > Select IP settings > Change the "IPv6" setting from "Automatic" to "Manual."

Enter your IPv6 address, subnet prefix length, and default gateway information provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

    Save your changes.

If it still does not work, please, contact your Internet Provider, they should be able to offer further insight on this issue.

    I hope this helps.

    Ethernet port

Hello, ive only got an IPV4 address on my xbox.

can i get an IPV6 as well?
My Xbox is using only IPv4. What should I do to add IPv6?

Several home routers support IPv6 but disable it by default. Check the manual for your router.

My router has IPv6 enabled, but my Xbox is connected on IPv4. What else can I do?

Try contacting your ISP to see if IPv6 is available in your area.

How does Xbox One configure for IPv6

My Router and my computer are showing has IPv6 enabled, but on my Xbox there is no option to connect through a IPv6 connection which is better for gaming.

Strict NAT since isp enabled IPv6

Can not set sky hub to bridge mode. I have managed to get my nat open using IPv6, in my sky hub I went to security, firewall rules then enabled the IPv6 firewall and my nat is now open. It quotes the held section of the inbound services -

"Inbound Services Enable Inbound IPV6 IPSec Firewall: This option will enable/disable only the IPsec related inbound IPv6 firewall rules in router. It is independent of the Enable IPV6 Firewall option.

Enabling this option allows devices to use IPv6 natively to improve connectivity to services like the Xbox On"

    Connection

    Hello James,

If your router has IPv6 enabled, but your xbox is connected to IPv4, try contacting your ISP to see if IPv6 is available in your area.
