I have game pass ultimate but am unable to download games for gold.

So by means of a friend, I learned that Sonic Generations is here for gold for the month of March. It’s the last day of March, yet I am still unable to download the game. From research it says that the game is available from the 16th-31th. I’m able to download
games from gamepass just fine, even though it should work for gold too since I have ultimate. I’m not asking anybody to answer me quickly enough until midnight (or whenever it’s taken off), I’m just asking if anybody knows why.

Thanks for checking, Gunnar. Are you subscribed to Xbox game pass Ultimate, or just Xbox Live? Ultimate game pass subscription includes Xbox live, and EA play. If you only have an active Xbox Live Gold, I am afraid you'll be unable to play the game.

Sounds like you are unable to redeem the game which you need to do before downloading. Just wanted to clarify that.

Even though you have Ultimate, make sure you have a payment option (credit/debit card, paypal, etc.) on your account. For 360 games, currency on an account will not work.

I am trying to ‘purchase’ the game through the Xbox One store directly from the ‘ad’ saying it’s available for gold (and should be for ultimate). Though I’ll look into getting the game through the web in case that solves anything.

Are you trying to do the 'purchase' through the web or the console?

Even though the game is free for gold, do you have a payment option on your account as the 360 marketplace requires one unless the purchase is done on an Xbox 360.

Also, on the web, I often have to click on the option twice as the first time the website doesn't seem to have me logged in to the account. The second time I click the link in the 360 marketplace it gives me the pop-up to purchase with the cost noted as
free (as well as my payment option that won't be charged) so I can then complete the purchase.
