Discus and support i have changed my name on Xbox but it doesn't come through on any game underneath the new... in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I recently updated my username to "euan ッ" on my xbox however my old name, "PIXL euan " is still showing underneath my new name when i go to my profile...     I recently updated my username to "euan ッ" on my xbox however my old name, "PIXL euan " is still showing underneath my new name when i go to my profile . If i were to go into a game like fortnite it
    will show my old name is there a solution to this?

    The new gamertag update is not supported by all games or all services yet, so since you have a tag with a symbol that would not be supported in those areas, your old tag will be shown. I'm not sure how Fortnite is set up.

    Thanks for addressing the concern. Yes the concern is with the gamertag. I am on an Xbox Series S, entirely up to date with software. I checked and in my profile it has the name I changed it to, but my old username underneath the new one. I understand it uses the old one for games that don't support non-latin characters but I am confident that Fortnite does.

    I have a profile/gamertag on my xbox of TRISTAN1 but this is not linked to a microsoft account. I have been using this profile to play games and build up progress. I joined Xbox live by going online on my laptop rather than through the xbox. Because of this
    I was given a new gamertag which doesn't link to TRISTAN1 so when I play any games through 'live' all the progress is lost as it logs me in on gamertag linked to my microsoft account

    I followed your instructions but this won't work. I created a new microsoft account but tried to name gamertag as TRISTAN1 but it won't let me as already in use.

    How can I work this out?
