I have call of duty modern warfare disc but it tells me to purchase it

Hello Daniel I have loved the cod series I have played them since world at war 2. But anyway I just bought a brand new mw 2019 disc. More info my console is used and in the full library it shows that the previous owner installed call of duty 2019 so when I ordered the game I decided to open up my Xbox One app and I installed the game it did not ask me to purchase anything and the first time I put the disk and it still says I need to purchase it I uninstalled reinstalled did the same thing I did the last two things that you mentioned to someone else by only using the disk for the discontents taking it out doing update and leaving the discount that didn't work and I restarted the MAC address so I don't know what to do but I would love to enjoy another Activision game because it's not every day you get to play something as good as you guys make thank you

I'm sorry you're going through this problem, what I advise you to do is the following:

Try installing only the contents of the disk first. When, at the beginning of the installation, a message will appear asking you to choose if you want to install the update at the same time. Do not use this option, use to install only the contents of the disk. Then, after the disk installation is finished, take it out, go to the game administration, find the update in the updates tab and install it without the disk.

When finished, insert the disk and see if the same error appears.

As a last option, you would go to Settings>Network Settings>Advanced>Alternate MAC Address>Delete. Your Xbox will need to restart, and you will need to reinstall your campaign and multiplayer data packs.

same with mine too, I got the full modern warfare disc, but it's telling me to purchase modern warfare, but only giving me the option to play warzone.

Since this is a disc copy and not a digital download of the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, the console looks for the specific disc to know that you have the license for Call of Duty 4 Remastered according to Activision's support page

For disc-based (physical) Legacy and Legacy Pro Editions of Infinite Warfare on Xbox One, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is included on the Infinite Warfare disc and no voucher code is required.
Before Modern Warfare Remastered can be played, an additional download is required. An internet connection is required to download content. The game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered.

For Digital Legacy and Digital Deluxe Editions of Infinite Warfare on Xbox One, there is no game disc or voucher code. An internet connection is required to download content. Modern Warfare Remastered and Infinite Warfare
are two separate downloads and there is no requirement to have both installed in order to play either piece of content. No game disc is required if you purchased the Digital Legacy or Digital Deluxe Edition of Infinite Warfare."

So unfortunately it looks like you'll need to purchase the Legacy or Legacy Pro edition via a disc or Digital Legacy or Digital Deluxe to be able to play Modern Warfare Remastered again. Though you might fall under Activision's Disc Replacement program
