i have NOT been able to find 12 pack mtn dews anywhere that have the halo 4 promo on them or i'd have bought them already

Microsoft changed the way subscriptions work, now it is always required to add a backup payment method.
Without it, it is not possible to redeem the subscription.

However, it is important to point out that your credit/debit card will not be charged once you redeem the code and once redeemed you can turn off recurring billing and remove your card from the account.

If it's anything like the 12 pack it will be somewhere inside the box. Also make sure that the 24 pack in question is one of the properly marked DewXp Mtn Dew 24 packs i just went to the gas station and saw that half
of the Mtn dew 12 packs had the promo and the other half didn't so if the 24 pack you have doesn't have a picture of master Chief on it you may be Sol.
