I have all content for Destiny 2 and all of a sudden it says I need to buy past dlc to get...

What exactly is your console model or version?

To make sure we didn't miss something, please follow the steps below:

In My games & apps, highlight a game (but don't select it).
Press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game and add-ons.
Select the game in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Choose Manage installation on [drive name]. This displays a list of items, including the base game and any available add-ons or game features.
Select the tick-box for each item that you want to install or SELECT ALL.
Select Save changes and it will begin installing those additional contents.

Once done, restart your console and try launching the game again.

im having this same issue. i have destiny and all dlc till now. i tried buying in the store on my x1 and in that link above. its not available. i tried going in game and getting it there it says it cant connect to xbox store. i erased everything restored
factory defaults to system. re downloaded destiny and all dlc tried buying rise of iron those 3 ways again only to get the same failed results. and yes i am on the account all the content is licenced to. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP!!!

Since I already have season pass, I will be getting the House Of Wolves DLC and hopefully Bungie / Activision will be releasing " free " DLC as an apology for the lack of content in the core Destiny 1 game.

The only way that I will be going anywhere near Destiny 2 is if the core content of Destiny 2 is as big as...

" Destiny 1 core content + The Dark Below DLC content + House Of Wolves DLC content "

combined on the initial $60.00 of Destiny 2.

Personally, I love Destiny because it is really fun

..........

However, at the same time (despite being really fun); the content that is available in the game is absolutely atrocious!

Had I known that Destiny was going to be a "ultra bare bones game content" title, I would not have picked-up this game at all.

With that being said, Destiny has taught me that the games of the Xbox One generation is going to be a "throw money at the developer to get more gameplay" fest.

Like I said before, I don't mind paying for DLC, but it has to be worth it.

Now, in regards to "The Dark Below" and "House Of Wolves", I already both the season pass so I will enjoy what I paid for.

However, if the "Comet DLC" for Destiny isn't free, I won't throw anymore money at Bungie / Activision.

Destiny is a game that I love, but I absolutely cannot recommend it to anyone else. If anything at all, I would tell others to stay away from Destiny.

Now, let us talk about Destiny 2...

I will only buy Destiny 2 if the content that is immediately available in the core game is equal to the core content of Destiny 1 with The Dark Below with House Of Wolves combined.

As far as the season pass of Destiny 2 is concerned, I would rather pay full price for the extra DLC content of Destiny 2 by not getting the season pass than be stuck with what I have with now on the season pass of Destiny 1 (The Dark Below and House Of
Wolves). At least I have the option to avoid low content expansion DLC with this method.

I bought the destiny ghost edition, which came with the season pass and I bought taken king on xbox when it came out. I have all the DLC content on the xbox 360. Like everyone has said before, I try to purchase the Destiny collection upgrade, and it says
coming soon. Even though in the description is saying you can start playing destiny "today" meaning you can purchase the collection upgrade and play all the DLC on destiny on the xbox one right now and obviously get the Rise of Iron when it releases. I've
been looking at this for weeks and its been the same. Very disappointing, I've put a lot of money into this game (Destiny is a good game, but my expectations weren't met and was not worth buying the $150 ghost edition). If I can't get the $40 price point for
the upgrade, I'm done with destiny until destiny 2 comes out and I will definitely be only getting the standard version this time.
