Codes are 25 characters long, include both numbers and letters, and follow a 5x5 format—five blocks of five characters. Codes can be digital or physical cards that you purchase from Microsoft or a trusted retailer.

Here is how you can redeem your code:

How to redeem a code on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Store.
   
2. Press the View button to open the side menu, and then select Redeem.
   
3. Enter the 25-character code, select Next, and then follow the prompts.

How to redeem a code in the Microsoft Store on Windows

1. Press the Start button, and then enter store into the search bar.

3. Select your gamerpic in the top-left corner, and then select Settings.
   
4. Select Redeem under Redeem a code.

Note You can’t redeem a code on the Xbox app for mobile at this time.

How to redeem a code on Xbox 360

1. Press the Guide button on your controller.

I have the exact same issue , only with Elden Ring , bought hogwarts legacy not long ago ( from cdkeys ) and works without issues , but yesterday bought Elden ring worked fine for a few hours and today says I have to buy it again , can see it in order history but not game library , been told by Xbox support to wait for their server maintenance to finish because this is happening to a lot of people, doesn’t matter if bought through Xbox or redeemed code, hopefully they fix it soon as I feel your pain right now :/

This must be new then . I redeemed points and code was sent .

I hope the add a option to add it as take code or give as a gift if there doing this . 👍

There are two ways to gift to friends. The first, email gifting, will give you a redeemable code after purchase (usually sent to you via email). This one you can then send to your friend. The only drawback is if you get their email address wrong and they may not receive it.

The second method which is the best is gifting directly to their gamertag on your list. That code will be sent to them via the Xbox Message Center and can be redeemed directly on the console.
