I have a add-on downloaded but when I go to the add-on it says it’s not downloaded

We understand that you're having trouble with your Sims 4 add-on. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the issue.

Before we proceed on that, just want to ask few questions to help us understand the issue further:

1. Was this working in the past?
   
2. Does the issue present to this game only? Have you tried checking other games?
   

In the meantime, let's make sure that your Xbox Live account is signed in and up to date. You can check this by going to the Xbox Live status page (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status) and making sure that all services are up and running.



Next, let's try clearing the cache on your Xbox One console. To do this, follow these steps:

• Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it fully powers off.
  
• Unplug the power cord from the back of the console.
  
• Wait at least 10 seconds.
  
• Plug the power cord back in and turn on the console.
  

Once your console has restarted, try launching the Sims 4 game and see if the add-on is now showing as downloaded.



If the issue persists, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the add-on. To do this, follow these steps:

• Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
  
• Select My games & apps.
  
• Highlight the Sims 4 game and press the Menu button on your controller.
  
• Select Manage game & add-ons.
  
• Highlight the add-on you're having trouble with and press the Menu button on your controller.
  
• Select Uninstall.
  
• Once the add-on has been uninstalled, go back to the Manage game & add-ons screen and select Ready to install.
  
• Find the add-on you want to install and select Install.

The Add-on says it is already installed but when I go to play it on the game it says it is not installed. Then I went to uninstall it and re-download it. But when I do that the Add-on downloads in a second and it is 7.6 GB; my internet is not that fast.

Unfortunately not. Unless your brother's account can also get the license transfer to your system, in which case you'd be able to play it on your account when connected to Live. Otherwise, you'd have to re-buy it.

You'll have to do a license transfer to your new Xbox 360. Bear in mind if you bought it on a different account, it won't work on your new 360 S and you'll have to buy it again.

Transfer content licenses

You can transfer content licenses from one console to another once every four months.

If your console was recently repaired, or if you’ve purchased a new console, use the license transfer option on your console to transfer content licenses. Here’s how:

1. 1. On your console, sign in to Xbox LIVE using the gamertag that you used to purchase the content.
      

1. 1. Go to the Settings, and then select Account.

1. 1. Go to Your Billing Options, and then select License Transfer.

1. 1. Follow the on-screen instructions to transfer the content licenses.

After the licenses are transferred, you need to download the content again to update the local licenses. This way the content can be used by other profiles on your console and when you’re not connected to Xbox LIVE.
