    I have a 1 TB external HDD that I want to use fr my Xbox One


    I have a 1 TB external HDD that I have formatted to NTFS but when I go to use it on my Xbox one it's not giving me the option to format it and use it for storage aside from pictures video and media, I have tried everything.

    It is USB 3.0

    Over 930GB available

    Please note that there are people using the same external for their Xbox ones so I know it's compatible.

    A little help with this would be great as my Xbox one has very little internal space and most of it is filled with my husband's games and save data

    It's not there. It's not being read by the Xbox. That was one of the first places I checked.

    Let's check it on your storage section. Please press the Xbox button to open the guide, select Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage. Let me know if you can see your external device there.

    Oh okay. It's possible a compatibility issue. Do you have a different cable for your external drive? Please try a different cable and see if it will detect your drive correctly.

    Make sure as well that only one storage device is connected and don't use multiple external storage devices.

    Okay so now we have gotten it so it's reading in 3.0 but now the Xbox isn't recognizing it at anything.
