    I have 1Gbit network connection, how it comes that my downloads are still stuck around 7Mb/Sec?


    When I am downloading most of the games from Xbox GamePass on my PC - The download speed is usually not more than 7-9Mb/Sec. While in the meantime I got a 1Gbit network connection and downloads in Steam, for example, are running on 70-80Mb/Sec. 10 times the difference.

    I wonder if it has something to do with the location of servers from where Xbox downloads its games and if there's a way to do something about it.

    Ok, I've checked and the issue seems to be inconsistent since I downloaded the game at 6.5-7Mb/sec speed an hour ago, and now the same game loading at 70+Mb/sec.

    Same 70+Mb/sec in MS Store.

    Could that be because of incorrect location and region settings in MS Account?

    Have you checked if the same issue occurs when using MS store app? Kindly open the Microsoft Store, then click on the profile picture in the top right corner. A pop-up box will appear allowing you to sign out then once signed out, kindly sign in again using the account that has the game pass and should change the store account. Let’s try to isolate if this issue only happens on Xbox app.

    Speed is up to 75 now, just as it was when I did nothing. I'll keep watching, since it may occur again later.
