I had this problem and my solution was my Xbox wasn't picking it up properly due to things being in the way, or try this

I had a problem with a controller where it said mic plugged in, and wireless headset would sync to controller 2. I didn't find out what it was though. I resynced controller and it's fine now.

When I connect a wireless controller, the left analog stick is stuck in down position. This is brand new controller, and have had other controllers do the same . But if I connect these controllers with a cable they work fine. Does anyone know
of a way to make it where I can use wireless controllers with my system, so my family can play games with me again

Are you connecting these wireless controllers via Bluetooth, or using the Xbox Wireless Adapter?

If the controllers are working fine when connecting via wire, then it sounds like the controllers themselves are fine, and it's possibly a driver issue, or a wireless connection issue.

The wireless headset does not connect to the controller, it connects to the xbox..

If you can't get both the controller and headset to be on the same player slot, then try using a paperclip or something to clean the micro-jack on the controller... I had problems before where the controller thinks a headset is plugged in it, because of
dust or whatever in that micro-jack...
