I got charged for a new gamertag but it didn’t change

I'm sorry to hear about this issue. If you were charged for a gamertag change but it hasn't been reflected on your account yet, the system may still be processing it. Typically, it can take up to full 72 hours for the change to reflect. However, if more than 72 hours have passed and the gamertag still hasn’t updated, I recommend reaching out to Xbox Support https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us for further assistance.

In the meantime, try removing your account > Restart your Device > Sign back in to redownload your profile to see if that would work.

Is Malkine you current gamer tag, if it is then you already received the free gamertag change, the free one is for people that got a computer generated gamer tag when they created their account

If you're changing the gamertag we created for you at signup (meaning you didn’t choose it yourself), you won’t be charged. For all other gamertag changes, you’ll be charged (fee varies by region and currency).

This account which i used to change the Gamertag. It had the tag of “SvmmyTvlhvMCYT” it didn’t have the numbers. I created a new account it didn’t had any numbers. I used another account to change an Gamertag (after the first account) it didn’t show any numbers.

Yeah I bought the name charge, but it didn’t change and gave me an error. So I retried changing gamertag and it just changed to the one I wanted. So what I’m guessing happened was I bought the name change, it gave me an error but it basically allowed me to keep the name charge and let me change it using that charge I had bought.

For all other gamertag changes, you’ll be charged (fee varies by region and currency).

The first change is indeed free as long as you kept the gamertag that was provided by Microsoft then you have to cough up some money for further changes.
