I got a scan code instead of a redeem code!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I brought Fortnite Limited edition with all the fixings. In that package was suppose to be a digital code for an extra copy of the game to give to a friend but I only got the Kinect scan code and My friend doesn't have one to scan the code to redeem it!
What can he and I do to redeem that code without him having to go and buy a Kinect (which we don't use) to redeem that code?

Need help redeeming my xbox live code

I tried redeeming the code in my browser on my computer using these instructions, big mistake. It said "thank you, you redeemed your code" and then exited me out. No gamertag registration whatsoever. I thought the whole point of redeeming my code was to create a gamer tag, but no just exits me out. I then tried redeeming my code on my xbox (so that I could create the gamer tag) and it said "sorry, code already redeemed."

so what the... what do I do now?

i got the code in my xbox messages, ill try it out sometime, just 25 digit codes are a hassleClick to expand...

you don't have to input the code. On the bottom of the message there should be a button to redeem code.

Generally there is a 5x5 Code that accompanies them, but for this game it might be a smaller and you may have to redeem it on the Fortnite website. Epic Games Support

Have you tried using a Scan QR Code app on a mobile device to redeem the code with QR code? Also, my code is only 20 digits and I was able to claim it. Double check the code for typos when entering it in the Redeem page.

To redeem a code on Xbox One say Xbox Use A Code. From there you can either have the kinect scan the code or type in the 25 digit code

Yeah just turned on my xbox to redeem a code for assassin's creed origins and couldn't scan the QR code with my kinect. Had to enter the code manually. I can still log in, using the kinect but is the qr code removed or something?

Used them last week saw a deal 28quid for 14 months so got two paid via PayPal got scanned images of redeem codes within 10 minutes this was after 10pm stunning service can't fault them
