Are you both on a console or both on a PC? Cross play does not work yet so you need to be on same system or PC.

Oh, ok. I play on switch, but I set up the account on phone. My friend plays on the same console, Nintendo Switch. He set it up on his Phone, and it works. We try to join each other on switch, so I dont know if that qualifies as cross play. But, you know

Has the Minecraft “Better Together” update prevented some cross-platform group play? It seems that the answer is YES. My children now cannot play in the same Minecraft world, one via Windows 10 PC and one via Switch. The Switch player keeps getting
an "Outdated Client" message when trying to join, despite being able to see the other player's status in the cross-platform dialog box. The Minecraft Switch software is up-to-date.

Hello, i dont try it for myself yet but in the past when i played xbox play anywhere games like forza horizon 4, sea of thieves and moonlighter in my pc or xbox they all have automatic cross saving, so i think it will be the same for the new ones

Hey Nathan, I’m not getting any errors when we try to connect. Instead, none of my friends show up as playing even though we all are. My PlayStation and Xbox friends are able to see when they are playing, and can easily connect with each other, yet I can’t. We are all on the latest version, and I play on Nintendo Switch. I’m not sure what to do anymore.

I honestly love multiplayer gaming because I I get to play with my friends and compete against other people online,I think the only problem with it is that cross platforming is not available on every multiplayer game yet and I think it should be because
most of my friends are on PS4 and Xbox player which means we rarely get to play if its not fortnite.
