I get an error when trying to verify an alias "This email address couldn't be verified...

Is the email address verified? If it is verified, sign in to account.live.com and click add or change alias. There you can add a new email, make it the primary alias and removed the hacked email address. If it is not verified, but you know the password,
sign in to verifyme.microsoft.com and when it says your email hasn't been verified it will give you an option to change the email address you sign in with.

t should let you add an alias if your email was already verified, if not, it will ask you to verify the email address that's currently listed first.

Once you add your alias, if its a 3rd party email (gmail, yahoo, etc) then click verify.

When I add the alias email I want to, it says that the alias email is already in use. My alias email is gmail and is already a live account (I use it for my Windows Phone and for OneDrive). I'm stucked, once again

I am trying to change my primary alias email but I have to first verify that email address but the problem is I no longer ave access to that email anymore. what can I do? in order to add another alias i have to first verify the old email but I cant.

I copied the link as printed in the email and pasted it in both Chrome and then Safari (on mac). In both cases I had to complete the login to the Microsoft account (the same account in my new alias) and got the same response

"Your email address wasn't verified

This email address couldn't be verified because the wrong Microsoft account may have been entered. Try signing in with another Microsoft account."

In that case you should try contacting support, this is a community forum, so you will mostly get answers from community members, that cant see the account information
