    I finally figured out how speech-to-text messaging works


    Sorry if this has been posted but I've searched and found no resolution to this issue since the removal of Cortana.

    Ever since they removed Cortana I've been struggling to get speech-to-text to work properly and today I figured out what I was doing wrong.

    When you open the text bar and press "select" hold the button while its "listening" to get it record what you're saying then release to stop. For the longest I would just tap the button (like I used to with Cortana) and nothing would happen.

    Hope this helps people out who've been trying to use the feature.

    Oh... I can't help but feel a little bit of "Seriously?". The voice message is standard on the 360 so I thought I was just missing something.... but oh well. Thanks for the info and I will be sure to go vote!

    Minecraft includes an option to use text-to-speech for chat during any game session. To enable text-to-speech for chat: Use the Accessibility Menu in Settings to enable text-to-speech for chat.
    Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+B at any point during a game session to enable text-to-speech for chat.
