What exactly is your Xbox console model?

Does the issue happen to any wireless network you try to connect your console?

Try to power cycle your console. Press and hold the Xbox power button for 10 sec until it turns off. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

Do the same with your router. Unplug it from the power source for at least 5 minutes before turning it back on.

If that doesn't work, try to perform a factory reset to remove potentially corrupted data on your console. There's an option to keep your games and apps.
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
Select Reset console.
On the Reset your console? Please choose “Reset and keep my games & apps”

I can connect to my home network which is secured by a pass code. When I go to a friend's house or like I am now, on vacation, I cannot connect to the internet. It always me to connect to the network though. Is it something in my preferences for my account
that is restricting me from being able to connect to the internet?

Sorry. I left out some important details. I used the internet connection at my brother-in-law's house and brought the console back to my house after the installation.

I was on earlier today before the update!I hooked the XBOX straight into my modem and the same issue "Can connect to the internet but not LIVE". I am able to write this on my lapto!

Anybody? I am able to connect to Xbox LIVE through the test internet connection with a good signal, but I cannot get Xbox LIVE service in games or marketplace. This is on my brother-in-laws console. My console has no problems connecting and getting service
(in same house on same router/gateway). Please help.
