What did you specifically change it on?

If you changed your name on mixer, it only applies to mixer, not your xbox gamer tag.

If you changed your gamer tag with the one free name change, try waiting 24 hours, if it's been longer than that I would recommend calling customer service to see if they can Manually change it.

You may even need to log out and log in again to see if it's changed or check your email to see if they sent something to authorize the change.

Reference numbers are only used by phone and chat support and should not be posted in the forums despite what support says.

You will need to pay if you want to change your gamertag. There is no way to get a free change. The enforcement team will issue a forced name change only if the gamertag violates the code of conduct and even then you are given a randomly generated tag, not
one of your choosing. While having personal information is not recommended, it is not a violation to have it in your gamertag.

Since you were given a random name change to replace an offensive gametag, you'll have to pay to change it to whatever you like. There is no way to request a specific name change other than by paying for it.
