I can't play minecraft multiplayer even after enabling my microsoft account settings. I can't find the NAT settings in my xbox app, so i don't know if there is any error messages. I downloaded the xbox console companion to find NAT, but the app is no longer supported. I'm on windows 11. Please help.

    :)

    Hello Matias Sandvik,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with minecraft multiplayer. There are a few possible reasons why this might happen, and I will try to help you troubleshoot them.

First, make sure that your microsoft account is linked to your xbox profile. You can do this by signing in to your microsoft account on the xbox website and checking your account settings. If you see a green check mark next to your xbox profile, then your account is linked. If not, follow the instructions to link your account.

Second, check your xbox network settings on your windows 11 device. You can do this by opening the xbox app and clicking on the settings icon on the left side of the screen. Then, click on network and look for the NAT type and server connectivity status. Ideally, you want to have an open NAT type and a connected server status. If you see a moderate or strict NAT type, or a blocked or disconnected server status, then you might have some issues with your network configuration.

Third, if your xbox network settings are not optimal, you can try to improve them by following some steps. For example, you can restart your router and modem, use a wired connection instead of wireless, or enable UPnP on your router. You can find more detailed instructions on how to do these steps on the xbox support website.

Please see: Minecraft | Xbox Support / Troubleshoot NAT errors and multiplayer game issues | Xbox Support

I hope these steps help you resolve your minecraft multiplayer issue.Thank you for choosing Xbox and have a great day.

I changed my microsoft account settings but minecraft multiplayer still doesnt work

    Hello Jaehee Park,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

It appears that you are having issue playing multiplayer games even after changing the settings of the account. Let us check on what we can do to help resolve your concern so that you can play multiplayer game in your device.

We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

    1. What particular settings was changed?

    2. What device are you using to play multiplayer game?

It is possible that your Network Address Translation type or NAT type settings is restricted to play multiplayer game. To play multiplayer games, your NAT type must be open or moderate. Let us check the settings through different devices.

Just to make sure your settings in online and privacy settings is configured correctly, here are the steps to enable the account to play multiplayer games.

    • Sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings with your parent's Microsoft account.
    • click on the child profile
    • On the navigation tabs, click Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 Online Safety devices.
    • Select Allow for You can create and join clubs and You can join multiplayer games.
    • Then click Submit.

Consequently, be sure to check the network address translation (NAT) type if it is not restricted. The NAT type must be open or moderated. To check for NAT type on all devices, see below:

    • For Windows 10:
      • PC Settings > Gaming > Xbox Network and check the NAT Type.
      • Look for NAT Type and error message/code.
      • Please reply with any error message/code you notice.
    • For Windows 11: Install Xbox Console Companion app from Microsoft Store (click here)
      • Launch Xbox Console Companion app.
      • Go to Settings and select Network tab.
      • Look for NAT Type and error message/code.
      • Please reply with any error message/code you notice.
    • For Console:
      • Kindly go to Xbox Console's Settings.
      • Select Network and Network Settings.
      • Look for NAT Type and error message/code.
      • Please reply with any error message/code you notice.

For your reference, see: Troubleshoot NAT errors and multiplayer game issues | Xbox Support

We look forward to your response. Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.
