I changed my gamertag over 24 hours ago and my old one is still there while my new one is...

Yep, same thing happened to me about 2 hours ago. Still unable to download my profile with new gamertag. XBL Status page says everything is up.. even my name on here is still my old gamertag, not my new one.

On my new xbox I've redeemed my old account but I've changed the gamertag, I'm wanting to transfer games ext from my old xbox to the new one but the data is owned by my old gamertag can I still transfer from the old gamertag to my new one ??

I understand that but what I don't understand is why it didn't happen to my friend when she changed her gamertag a few hours ago - is there anyway to remove said old gamertag because when I'm in an xbox one game such as red dead online, it shows my new
gamertag like it's supposed to

I understand how frustrating this can be. Gamertag changes can take up to 48h to fully change.

You can also try to perform a Hard Reset:

Hold your power button on your Xbox for 8 to 10 seconds or until it turns off.

Once the Xbox is off unplug your power pack from the Xbox so it has no power running into it.

Leave the power pack unplugged for 5 to 10 minutes and then plug it back in and start up your Xbox.

If even after this and waiting for 48h it does not change, what you need to do is contact Xbox Support directly so they can solve this for you.
