i changed my gamertag last night and got charged for it but my name has not changed.

Can you please sign in to https://account.xbox.com/profile then check if it was changed from there? Once confirmed, simply remove and re-add your account on the Xbox console.

3. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm. ​​​

5. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences to add your Microsoft account to your Xbox console.​​​"

If it was not changed from there, please go to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders and check if you can see the Gamertag change fee, if yes, kindly try changing it again, but this time, you shouldn't be charged.

Hi I need a name change my gamertag has my last name and I would like to change it

No no one changed it for me. I was on my Xbox checking for availability of gamer tags and as I clicked yes the gamertag changed without charge and i was not intending of changing just checking for names since i was bored. I called Xbox support and they
can see on their screen as well that my gamertag has changed but i was not charged for this.

XBox has been have issues recently, but I was successful last night in changing my grandson's gamertag. Go try it now.
