I understand how frustrating this can be. Gamertag changes can take up to 48h to fully change.

You can also try to perform a Hard Reset:

Hold your power button on your Xbox for 8 to 10 seconds or until it turns off.

Once the Xbox is off unplug your power pack from the Xbox so it has no power running into it.

Leave the power pack unplugged for 5 to 10 minutes and then plug it back in and start up your Xbox.

If even after this and waiting for 48h it does not change, what you need to do is contact Xbox Support directly so they can solve this for you.

I spent all day yesterday with Xbox Support on Twitter, and after hours of back and forth trying to describe this problem within 140 characters, ended up DMing them my gamertag as they requested, and haven't heard back from them since. Said they would pass
the information along to another team...

That was 24 hours ago.

Balance before the glitch was +50. After the charges and refunds the balance is now -5450. Epic nor xbox support want to take the time to investigate the issue but instead keep shifting me back and forth between eachother.

Once a gamertag is changed it isn't instantly freed up. I'm not sure of the timetable though. I've heard anywhere between 24 hours and 30 days.

Holy moly i keep going back and forth, but reading into it even more, that will just get rid of everything, and I'm only trying to get rid of , as I had changed my gamertag to xXTHEChickenGod.
