I can’t use party chat at all. It tells me I must repurchase my subscription to Xbox live.

hello my son is experiencing the same problem. He just got 12 months gold subscriptionthis morning and is able to download the gold games with no problem. But cannot use party chat or invite to game. it tells him that he must subscribe to gold and it gives
him options for 1, 3 or 12 months. Even though he's already a 12-month membership and it shows it in his subscription on his settings page. I don't know why it's telling him to do that. We're trying to use party chat so we can chat together and play a game
together but it's not working for him. and no he's not living with me he's on his own because he is an adult does anybody know why this problem is happening?

headset will notcause you to disconnect to xbox live. I have been droping from live and party chat alot so have my friends so that tells me its xbox live servers

Okay seriously, I must live in the world's best Xbox Live region. I had all of my friends, it just took a few tried to get a party chat to work.

To use the Party Chat app you don't need an Xbox Live Gold subscription, but other members who are using an Xbox One console will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to join your party.
