I can’t use my Minecraft on a new device

I purchased Minecraft Java edition many years ago with an email address. I then migrated to the Microsoft account and had to create a new Microsoft email address. (I don’t remember why I had to create a new email address and why I couldn’t just use the original one) But now I have a new laptop and when I login with my Microsoft account for Java edition it does say play but I only get access to a demo. I downloaded the launcher while logged in to Microsoft and it’s telling me to buy it.

I am so fed up with this. Why am I having such an issue. Can anyone actually solve this problem?
