    I can't use a different Microsoft account to sign into Sea of Thieves


    I bought the game on Steam.

    I couldn't recover my main Microsoft account that I used with the game, so I didn't bother trying to recover it.

    Instead, I made a new account, ready to start all over again. However, I'm not able to switch Microsoft accounts.

    I've done the following:
    1. Created a totally new Microsoft account.

    2. Changed my Windows 10 log in account to the new one.

    3. Changed Microsoft Store to the new account.

    4. Changed XBox Console Companion to the new account.

    5. Uninstalled and re-installed the game on Steam.

    Could someone please help me out?

    I just deleted the game, and requested a refund because I have the same issue, and the developer says it is microsoft's issue, and none of the steps on microsoft's chats work. Three nights I have spent trying to get this game to work.

    Let's try some steps to isolate the issue. Kindly open File Explorer using the Windows key + E shortcut.

    In the address bar paste the following line:

    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\TokenBroker

    If there are Accounts and Cache folders available make sure that you delete them. After removing the cache, try to start the Xbox app again.

    I'm having this same issue. I have almost 1900 hours in this game and never had a issue till now. I did this and im still having sign in/ account switching issue.
