I can't update my Gamertag

I am trying to change my Gamertag and I get something like the gamertag is inappropriate or does not comply with the policies, the truth is I don't understand English very well, I simply want to change my Gamertag and it won't let me, I don't understand why, the Gamertag I want to put on is this ＣｈｏｃｏＫｒｙｓｐｙｓ７７７ just like that. I don't see anything inappropriate in it

No but thats not the issue

You have a max of 12 characters not 15

It's 12 characters with 3 reserved for any hashtag incase you need it whenever you are a copy or not

If you remove the 777 you will be fine however if someone else has it you can still get it but you don't choose the hash tag

I'd like to change my gamertag too, but I can't because I don't own Xbox.

Gfwl gamertag changing is not working because there are still Microsoft Points and it's not updated.

i'm having the same issue, xbox starts up fine, but my gamertag was on my buddies xbox last time i played anything, try to go to recover gamertag and it says that there is the new update it wants to download before it can recover my gamertag, it goes to
download the update and just stalls and ends up giving the Status Code: 3524 0000 0080 0300 8007 045D

i also tried unhooking hard drive and reinstalling, but no luck

i heard someone tried downloading the update to a thumb drive and installing the update that way, but i can't find anywhere online to download the newest update that just came out

please anyones help greatly apprecited!

I can successfuly change gamertag (using new system) there:

(since xbox app on windows 10 is broken, can't create account with it)

Sadly I won't be able to change gametag anymore for free,

because system wasted one on log on here... :/

if the system says it's in use, then it is in use somewhere on Microsoft's servers. The tag system is in use on other Microsoft systems so even if it's not in use on an Xbox, it may be in use elsewhere. The system also doesn't see thing like spaces as making
a gamertag unique. So while you may be searching for "gamertag" and can't find it, it may actually be in use as "gamer tag".
